Our Canadian Board

Craig Eby

North American Executive Director

Craig first connected with NCV in 2011 during a mission trip to Cochabamba, Bolivia, and felt a strong calling from God to return and help serve. He continued volunteering in longer stints, deepening his connection with the children and the foundation. Craig holds a Master’s in Global Development and has non-profit experience both internationally and in Canada. He lives in Victoria, B.C. with his wife, Dina, and their newborn son, Luka. In his free time, Craig enjoys hockey, soccer and spending time in nature. 

Corry Flatt

Board Chair

Corry first connected with Niños con Valor in 2007 as one of the foundation’s earliest short-term volunteers in Bolivia. The experience sparked a lasting passion for the children’s wellbeing that has stayed with him ever since. Corry has built a career in the tech industry, co-founding Bonfire and most recently GovAI, and brings that entrepreneurial experience to his role as Board Chair. He lives in Cambridge, ON with his wife and two children.

Dawn Malo

Board Member

Dawn and her husband Garry live in Waterloo, ON, with a longtime connection to Bolivia through their son Tyson, who has lived in Cochabamba with his wife and three children for over 20 years. What began as family and church support grew into the formation of BCF, and Dawn has visited Cochabamba and the children’s home many times since. She and Garry have raised five children and welcomed eight grandchildren, with a lifelong heart for kids that includes over 30 years as a foster family. Now retired after running their own business for 35+ years, Dawn enjoys hiking, reading, music, and traveling, and looks forward to visiting their Niños family again later this year.

Denise Bender

Board Member

Denise Bender first visited Niños con Valor in 2009 to see what her relatives, Tyson and Carolina Malo, were doing in Cochabamba, and to help with projects at the Corazón del Pastor children’s home. Her presentation to their church, Living Water Fellowship, sparked enough interest to lead two large mission teams to Bolivia in 2011 and 2014. Recognizing the need for a Canadian charity, Denise helped Dawn and Garry Malo establish the Bolivian Children’s Foundation and has served on the board ever since as General Secretary. She lives in Wellesley, ON with her husband, Barry, works as the bookkeeper for the family’s excavating business, and is Nana to five grandchildren.

Jeanette Eby

Church Relations

Jeanette first got involved with Niños con Valor in 2009 as a long-term volunteer at the girls’ home, where she fell in love with the country and the children. She has returned many times since to volunteer and visit, becoming a strong advocate for BCF by leading team mission trips and raising awareness for the children. Jeanette is a mental health nurse and a passionate advocate for children’s welfare and justice. She lives in Hamilton, ON with her husband.

Dave Cooke

Board Treasurer

Dave Cooke has served as BCF’s board treasurer since 2012, bringing over 15 years of accounting experience and a deep commitment to the children and youth the foundation supports. His financial expertise plays an integral role in stewarding BCF’s resources well. Dave lives in Ottawa with his wife and daughter.
